Esquel CPO Queenie Huang Attended Carbon Neutrality 2060 Summit, Advocates Gender Equality and Talent Empowerment

Esquel Group's Chief People Officer (CPO) Queenie Huang attended the "Carbon Neutrality 2060" Summit hosted by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) North Asia in Guangzhou on June 8-9, 2023. In a panel discussion at the Greenbuild "Women in Green" sub-forum, with the theme of "Leading the Change: Women and Sustainability”, she explored and shared the crucial role of women's power in leading industry changes and promoting sustainable development. 

During the panel discussion, Queenie emphasized, "Esquel advocates a diverse culture and provides female employees with career development programs and leadership training schemes. These initiatives help them continuously improve their thinking and work abilities, and achieve better results in the workplace, thus achieving better employment." 

Esquel firmly believes that women's empowerment and gender equality are prerequisites for achieving sustainable development. For many years, the company has been supporting and promoting equal opportunities in the workplace, bringing positive impact on gender inclusiveness for the industry. In 2020, Esquel signed the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) with UN Women, further conveying its unwavering belief in creating a diverse and inclusive work environment. 

Meanwhile, Esquel also values employee well-being, recognizes employee’s potential, and attaches high importance to the sustainable development of talents. The company believes that every employee has the ability to lead the change. Since 2015, Esquel has joined hands with the Open University of China to organize the Worker Education Sponsorship Scheme. This fully-funded 2.5-year tailor-made e-learning program provides frontline staff and some supervisors without tertiary education with an opportunity to pursue professional skills and educational qualifications. Since the inception of our sponsorship program, we have enrolled over 1,000 employees in the courses.
