Esquel Innovation & Incubation Village Awarded LEED Gold Certification

Esquel Innovation & Incubation Village has been awarded the LEED ID+C Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. Following its earlier recognition with the Architizer A+ Award, this certification represents further recognition of the Village’s progress in sustainable design.

Esquel Innovation & Incubation Village receives LEED Gold certification

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a globally recognized framework for assessing the environmental performance of buildings. It evaluates buildings across multiple areas, including energy efficiency, water conservation, carbon emissions, and indoor environmental quality. The certification reflects Esquel’s continued efforts in green transition and sustainable development.

Transformed from the former Xinjiang Esquel Textile facility, the Village is now a key project under Esquel Group’s innovation strategy. The redevelopment preserves the core structure of the original industrial buildings while integrating sustainable design principles, regional cultural elements, and modern functionality. The Village focuses on cross-sector collaboration in agriculture technology, textile and apparel, as well as clean energy.

The transformation adopted a modular structural system and reused materials, while the exterior features a rammed-earth-inspired finish to help reduce environmental impact and enhance spatial adaptability. The interior makes use of eco-friendly composite materials, with shared spaces designed to meet the evolving needs of enterprises at different development stages.

Looking ahead, the Village will continue to leverage local resources and industry strengths to support sustainable development. By introducing advanced technologies and improving service capabilities, it aims to foster an inclusive and forward-thinking innovation environment for enterprises operating in the region.
